Terms of Use

These terms govern the use of the S Grade website. S Grade is an editorial index of hotels: the grades follow from published Forbes Travel Guide and MICHELIN ratings, and no house pays to be listed or for its grade.

Separately from the index: Tim Schander, an independent affiliate of Fora Travel – a Virtuoso Member. If you send a request, we arrange the reservation on your behalf through Fora and are paid a commission by the hotel. Your rate is the hotel’s own.

The accommodation contract is concluded between you and the hotel. We arrange it; we do not provide the stay ourselves. The hotel’s own terms, rates, cancellation and no-show policies apply, and we will tell you what they are before you confirm.

We arrange single travel services only, accommodation. We do not sell package holidays or linked travel arrangements within the meaning of §§ 651a ff. BGB and Directive (EU) 2015/2302, and we do not sell flights, car hire or tours.

Accommodation booked for a specific date is exempt from the statutory right of withdrawal (§ 312 g (2) no. 9 BGB, Art. 16 (l) of Directive 2011/83/EU). What applies instead is the hotel’s own cancellation policy, which we set out to you before you confirm. Sending a request obliges you to nothing, nothing is booked until you say so.

Content is compiled with care but provided without warranty as to accuracy, completeness or currency, this applies in particular to rates, availability and third-party ratings. Liability for external links rests with their operators.

Texts, graphics and the S Grade mark are protected. Reproduction requires prior written consent.

German law applies. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of your own country’s law (Art. 6 (2) Rome I).
