Set on a bend of the Sand River in Sabi Sand, the Varty family established this camp in 1926, a year before Kruger National Park itself opened, and MICHELIN gives it three Keys as the blueprint the modern safari lodge copied. Five thatched settlements read as a village, and leopard tracking remains the house specialty.
