Opened in 1894, the building has been an inn, a convent and, in the 1960s, a government office before its rebirth as an eight-room, adults-only retreat on a mountain slope facing the Giant Mountains, MICHELIN notes. The veranda suite suits solo travellers; the historical suite has a bathtub for two. The kitchen skips single-use plastic and cooks from its garden.
