Huka Lodge
What the classifiers highlight
Founded in 1924 as a trout-fishing camp on the Waikato River, three hundred meters upstream from Huka Falls, the lodge sits on seventeen acres recognized as a Garden of National Significance. Forbes counts 25 suites and two cottages, complimentary rods and mountain bikes, and past guests from Queen Elizabeth II to Michelle Obama. MICHELIN calls the riverfront setting extremely well-done.
